CVSN Return & Refund Policy

1. About This Policy

CVSN operates as an online marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of products and services across local communities in New South Wales and Queensland. CVSN itself is not the seller of products listed on this site; individual sellers set their own terms of sale and fulfilment, including returns and refunds.

This policy explains how returns and refunds are handled when products are purchased via CVSN, and your rights under Australian consumer law.


2. Marketplace Nature

Because CVSN is a platform that facilitates transactions between buyers and independent sellers, returns and refunds are generally managed between you (the buyer) and the seller from whom you purchased the item. CVSN does not automatically offer refunds or exchanges for items listed by third-party sellers unless explicitly stated by the seller in their listing.


3. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you may be entitled to a remedy including a repair, replacement or refund if a product you purchased:

  • Is faulty, unsafe or not of acceptable quality,

  • Does not match its description, or

  • Is not fit for its intended purpose.

These rights cannot be excluded by a seller’s policy and apply regardless of whether the goods are new or second-hand, provided the seller is offering goods as part of a business.

Important: Consumer guarantees may not apply where the seller is a private individual (not operating as a business). When purchasing from a private seller through a marketplace, some ACL guarantees may not apply except for basic rights (e.g., clear title, undisturbed possession, no hidden charges).


4. Seller-Provided Returns & Refunds

Sellers may offer their own return and refund terms. Before purchasing, you are encouraged to:

  • Read the seller’s return/refund terms if provided,

  • Ask the seller directly about return options, and

  • Keep all proof of purchase details for any dispute resolution or claims.

If a seller offers a voluntary return or exchange policy (e.g., “30 days for change of mind”), that policy applies only if clearly stated in the listing.


5. Change of Mind Returns

CVSN itself does not require sellers to accept returns for “change of mind” purchases. A seller may choose to offer exchange, store credit or refunds for change of mind, but this is at their discretion and must be communicated up front. (Australian consumer law does not require a refund for change of mind unless the seller agrees).


6. How to Request a Return or Refund

To request a return or refund:

  1. Contact the seller directly via the messaging system on CVSN or other contact information provided in the listing.

  2. Provide your order details, proof of purchase and reason for requesting a return or refund.

  3. If the item is faulty or does not match the description, explain the issue clearly and include photos if possible.

If the seller fails to respond or resolve a valid issue, you may be entitled to escalate the matter through:

  • A chargeback with your payment provider (where applicable),

  • Alternative dispute resolution, or

  • A complaint to your local consumer protection authority.


7. Marketplace Assistance

CVSN may provide assistance in dispute resolution at its discretion, such as facilitating communication between buyer and seller. However, CVSN does not guarantee refunds or returns and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of items listed by third-party sellers.


8. Other Important Information

  • Shipping costs associated with returns are generally the responsibility of the buyer unless the seller agrees otherwise.

  • Sellers may set timeframes for returns (e.g., “returns accepted within 14 or 30 days”). Ensure you understand and agree to these before purchasing.

  • CVSN reserves the right to update this policy at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
